Calcium-based alloys
metaconcept supports manufacturers in optimising their metallurgical processes by supplying a specialised range of calcium-based alloys. These alloys play an essential role in deoxidation, desulphurisation, metal bath treatment and improving the mechanical properties of non-ferrous metals.
Thanks to its proven expertise, metaconcept ensures reliable supply, consistent quality and tailor-made technical support for the foundry, secondary metallurgy, energy and electrochemistry sectors.
Metaconcept is a leading supplier of special alloys for industry, particularly calcium-based alloys used in advanced metallurgical treatments. These alloys are essential for improving the quality, purity and performance of non-ferrous metals. They play a key role in the deoxidation, desulphurisation and structural modification of molten baths.
1. Ca Al 65/35
- Composition: Calcium 65%, Aluminium 35%
- Description: Highly reactive alloy used to treat aluminium or copper baths in order to reduce gas and impurity content. Recommended for rapid and effective deoxidation processes.
2. Ca Al 75/25
- Composition: Calcium 75%, Aluminium 25%
- Description: Calcium-enhanced formulation for intensified action in applications where high metal purity is required. Ideal for secondary metallurgy and aluminium processing.
3. Ca Al 80/20
- Composition: Calcium 80%, Aluminium 20%
- Description: Highly reactive alloy used in the most demanding treatments. It improves the metallurgical structure and significantly reduces non-metallic inclusions.
4. Sn Pb Ca
- Composition: Tin, lead and calcium alloy (contents vary according to specification)
- Description: Used in the manufacture of long-life lead-calcium batteries, this alloy improves corrosion resistance, reduces self-discharge and ensures excellent plate conductivity. This alloy is used in particular in the manufacture of batteries, corrosion protection components and chemical treatments. It combines the density of lead with the deoxidising properties of calcium.
Typical applications of Calcium-based Alloys:
- Non-ferrous foundries
- Secondary aluminium processing
- Metallurgical refining
- Lead-calcium battery production
- Deoxidation and modification of molten baths
